Qcompiles haninging in the Queue

We have having a issue with qcompiles hanging in the queue. It is only happening to one user, other users in the same security class don't have the problem. I have cleared the queue several times but newly submitted compiles still hang. This user can compile successfully using lawcmp or cobcomp.

Any advice or suggestion would be great. Lawson hasn't been much help, indicating I need to increase our system resouces and move off vmware before they will troubleshoot further.

Thanks,
Paul

What version are you on? OS? Do you see any errors in the log files?

We are on ver 9.0.1, Windows Server 2003. No we don't see any errors in the logs. That's what is so frustrating.

Hmm, very strange. So there is nothing unique about this user at all? I'm assuming you're using laua?
Do you have quota's set up for users?
Have him run the qcompile with a -C directive to produce a compile log and see what goes on there.
Also try with a -D.
Does loccmp work?

Sometimes when things like this come up, I just let the user use the workaround cause it would waste several hours to try and fix the issue otherwise and it may not really gain much by it...

It's hard to say since I haven't worked with Windows and Lawson. Does the user connect via LID to do the qcompile's? Can you easily delete and recreate the person's ID? and also wipe out any windows related profiles? Not the best solution but could be an option.

No, there is nothing unique to this user. Yes we are using LAUA and are connected via LID. I'm not sure what the quota setting is? We tried qcompile with the -C option but no log is generated since the progam never actually compiles.

Just to rule out security, can you try it with lawsec off? Second thing could be file permissions. Just a thought, or two.

Back when I was using Lawson 8.0.3 with LAUA security in a Windows 2003 server environment, I found that Lawson is sensitive to Windows security settings for individual users in individual directories.... it may be that security settings for some obscure directory somewhere is causing this issue. Can you talk to your Windows Admin? :nix:

We used to have this problem in one of our old environments. We had to remote log in to the app server to run a qcompile. Never did figure out why. Loccmp would run fine.

It's no longer a problem in our current system though.

Nevermind.. I responded with an answer for the whole system, not a single user.. In that case it's probably NOT the MF License Manager
