Changing Form Labels

I want to change the label on a Lawson form. Something simple like change Company to Division. Can I not just go into Design Studio and change the label? I was told I would have to change the scr file and recompile it.

I was also told there is a text file somewhere that I can change that does a mapping of Lawson std labels to custom labels. Where would I find this text file?

Thanks.

We've changed several labels on forms by just editing the .scr file and recompiling. We don't have Design Studio so I couldn't say if that is an easier method.

One of the simplest is to use Lawson's language feature. I had a client who didn't use the word, "employee" so we created a language file mapping "Employee" to the word of their choice, and set the default LOCALE to use that language

This assumes of course that the titles are called from the language files and not coded in the SCRs, which SHOULD be the case

It sounds like schroncd's approach would work the best. But if I had the choice to do it in Design Studio or modifying the source code, I would do it in Design Studio. It depends on how many screens you want to change. If it is just a couple of screens, Design Studio would be far easier. If you want to replace a word any where it exists, I would try the language mapping. If you need some help with Design Studio, just le me know. dczarny@shorehealth.org
