Step Grade not Working; Doesn't work with Multiple Positions

Hello.......We just implemented the step grade feature and are having trouble getting it to work with multiple positions. We load time records into Lawson via .CSV files with the PR530, when a second position is listed in the file the system doesn't use the correct rate of pay for the step grade it just defaults to the home department. We have it set up on the PA13 in level 2. I tried using the HR14 Alternate Rates but that didn't work either. I also tried all 3 different defaulting options on the PA06 position rule and nothing seems to work.

Thanks much for any assistance.

Have you tried looking at the hr10.2 for the position defaults?
This button is available on the pa06 itself...it will allow you to change some of the defaulting rules...worth a shot....

Are your positions tied to process levels and/or departments - if they are, you'll need to have all 3 fields on the PR530. Not sure how you're feeding your PR530, but hopefully, it's something that that's automated, or that you don't have a lot of employees on S&G and multiple positions!! I'm not sure what's worse - the step and grades, or the multiple positions (we have both here - I never had a gray hair until I was dealing with them both all of the time!!)

Do you get the correct pay rate if you enter the time record manually on PR35 or PR36? If you do, then compare the fields you entered to the those in your PR530 file, maybe a field is missing. If you don't, then is it only the pay rate that is not being defaulted correctly - is the process level/dept, location, accounting unit/account correct? If so, then check the Rate Override flag on the HR06 form (unlikely, but that's exactly what I found caused this years ago).

Keep us posted on your results. The good news is that like Stephanie, we do this all the time, so we know it can be done.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions and input. Nothing worked so we went the LIS route and surprise surprise there's a patch, we installed CTP56893 to fix the PR530 and now step grade is working on the multiple positions.

Thanks again.
