We have accountants who would like to upload JE transactions to the GLSTRANSREL table with the IMPORTDB environment utility and we in IT would LOVE to give this authority to them....BUT. The caveat is this allows them to run importdb on ANY table in Lawson and that's where i draw the line. They have the Add-ins but don't want to wait 3 hours to load a 20,000 line entry...can't blame them. I could create a script that calls importdb with syntax built in that has only the GLTRANSREL table as an option, but i wanted to see if there were any other possible workarounds before I spend a few hours coding a script. |

There is a Lawson delivered online program IMDB that you can copy and use as a template, it uses the importdb utility, all you need to do is hard code GLTRANSREL and protect the DB File name header field in the screen. Arvin Ojales |
