Hello All I was under the impression that the only way to get LSF9 installed is the regular method as mentioned in the LSF9 install guide until I came across the following... Looks like if I have a LSF9 installed on one box, I can take a clone copy of it (Environment & Application), by copying all the files (under $LAWDIR, $GENDIR, $LADBDIR etc) it onto a different box, have a fresh copy of LDAP server installed & do some tweaking so that the copied LSF9 files will point to the newly installed LDAP server. Also, it looks like this setup will consume only 4-5 hours for the entire setup & 12-13 hours for the product line compilation. Is it true that an environment can be installed by simply copying & tweaking few files rather than undergoing a week's time in getting the entire environment setup? Pls help me understand. Thanks. Regards Ganesh .R |

Please share your instructions. Many of us have worked on a way to clone LSF9 without success. I assume you were able to clone the ldap and websphere as well? I'd love to see your docs! |

I agree!! I've wanted to do this a few times but after thinking through the process it seemed up front that it would be faster to just intall from scratch and then migrate data over. |

Hi aarganesh, Can you let us know how you did? I have a unique situation. I have a old dev box with LSF 9.0(32-bit). We copied all LAwson config files e.g. under $LAWDIR, $GENDIR, $LADBDIR from QA box(which is under 9.0.1 - 64 bit) to this Dev box. I would like to tweak and make the Dev box work. Pls keep us posted. Thanks in advance. |
