Pardon me if this is somewhat silly for me to ask - we're currently on 8.03 env, upgrading to LSF9, and currently using Crystal 9. We've received conflicting information about using our current crystal reports after our upgrade - do we a have to install LBI and recopy all of our current v9 in order to use them in production? I'm not even working on this piece, so I don't have a lot of information  I was just asked to present the question. Many thanks |

How do you deliver your reports to your end users? Enterprise Reporting (Crystal Enterprise integrated with Lawson Portal), Crystal Enterprise (stand-alone), LRS 1.x, or is it a manual distribution process (run in Crystal, export, email, etc)? When you say Crystal 9, are you referring to Crystal Reports 9, Crystal Enteprise 9, or both? |

Enterprise Reporting, although we do NOT have it integrated with portal at this time, currently export and manually distribute the reports (to a shared drive) and it's crystal's report version 9 |

Essentially, then you just have a stand alone Crystal Enterprise (CE), even if you did purchase it through Lawson as Enterprise Reporting. Correct? And I'm guessing it's CE 9, since you are using version 9 for Crystal Reports (CR) I think your main concern will be compatiblity between CR 9 and your Lawson database version for LSF9. For Oracle you have to be on 10g (10.2 I think) for LSF9, and CR 9 is only "supported" with Oracle 9i/8i. I'm unfamiliar with the LSF9 requirements for SQL/DB2, but I suspect you will likely have the same concerns. I would consider moving to BOE XI or LBI 9, which will also mean converting your CR 9 reports to CR 10 (LBI 9/RAS 10) or CR XI (LBI 9/RAS 11 or BOE XI). An upgrade to BOE XI or LBI 9 would make available some cool new functionality as well (ie WEBI/adhoc reporting in BOE XI, Smart Notifications in LBI 9, among others). Of course, you will also need to review any database changes in LSF9 to see if your reports need to be redesigned. |
