We currently plan to start the upgrade to LSF 9.0 in a month and would like feedback from some who may have already done this upgrade. Did you upgrade to 9.0 Apps as well or stick with 8.1? Does anyone have any good reasons for upgrading vs staying with 8.1? Thanks. |

We haven't upgraded yet. Probably in the fall, but it's going to be Environment first then apps -- well that's the current plan <_< The other reason to upgrade is just for support reasons. I'm not sure when 8.1 will be decommissioned but they are already raising the price of LSF after May 21. My feeling on that is they just want to push people away from the old software, but that's just my opinion. |

We're in the process of upgrading to LSF9, but keeping our 8.1 apps at this time. We've been told, by several sources, that performing a 2 step upgrade is our better option. This way, if we encounter issues, we'll know that it's environment related, and we'll be able to determine the same thing when we upgrade our apps (already having LSF9 in production). However, that being said, I have also heard success stories from those who have done or are working on both at the same time. Two steps work for us primarily because we have extremely limited resources for testing purposes, and quite a few custom reports on the app side, so segregating the upgrade will be easier for us in the long run. Good luck!! |
