Title: Excel Addin - Upload

ohthatsme - January 23, 2007 11:35 PM (GMT)
I am trying to upload info into the job code table... However, I do not know how to determine what jobcode table fields are required to be in the upload file (example, FC, JOBCODE, OBJ-ID, etc)

Is there a std way to determine what fields are required in order to maKe the an HR, PA, PR, BN uploads into Lawson sucessful?

Thx as always!

you can do a dbdoc on the table:

dbdoc <productline> <systemcode> <tablename> | lashow

that will tell you what is what and if something is really required.

Remember that AddIns use Lawson SCREENS, not necessarily TABLES for their work. So review the screens for entering jobcodes to see what info they require.

Since Addins use screens they follow the entry rules as if you were on that screen, you will need to be aware of any warnings and messages on that screen and you may need soft edit overrides. You also may need to enter hidden fields or keys for some addins (PA52). Sometimes it's helpful to enter a record directly to the screen and then query that record so you can see everything that was created.

I'm not aware of any one source for addins that will let you know what is required on every screen. In my experience it usually takes a combination of trial and error, Knowledge base, and asking people on LawsonTalk for advice. Cue Academies and labs are also helpful. The site below has some useful examples created by one of the Lawson employees:

From what I've gathered from sessions and from one of the guys that developed ADD-Ins, the quickest and easiest way is enter ONE field at a time on the Form in question then click Add or Change. The Form will display a message if a required field is missing. This will at least give you the minimum fields that are required, and easier for most users that are not famliar with reading technical documentation.

We need to load a bunch of Non Employed Physicians from our Credentialing System into our EMPLOYEE table...anyone out there know/have an HR11.uwf with the required fields?

Check HR10.1 and HR10.2 for Required fields.

Also, find out what Status Code will be used on the nonemployed docs, then go to HR03 and look at the Payment Status field for that code. If first character = P, and HR Company IS a Payroll Company, system will require more fields.
Let me know.

If I can verify the list of 8.x req'd flds, I'll post them for you.

To determine the required fields of a form, from Lawson Portal, run the online program, then press CTRL-SHIFT-V, this will bring you to the "About" screen, click the "Required Collection" and it will show you the Required fields.
