Title: Transactions Per Payroll Cycle
SAH - January 18, 2007 12:38 PM (GMT)
Good morning - I'm trying to determine just how unusual we may be.... would you mind sharing 3 pieces of info with me -
What is your payroll frequency?
How many employees paid per cycle
How many transactions processed per cycle (new hires, changes, terms, etc.)
Many thanks in advance

Hey Stephanie
We're on Semi monthly pay with around 12,000 checks each payroll. Around 10,800 of those are salary with the remainder being part-time hourly pay. Transactions per payroll vary greatly based on the time of the year with June to Sept being the greatest. Excluding end of year terms, paychanges at the beginning of the year, and the summer hiring season, it looks like we have around 200 actions per period.

Hi Stephanie,
We have a biweekly payroll with a Friday pay day and a 'demand' payroll the following Monday (mini-payroll, 20-60 checks/receipts, for employees missing significant pay from their Friday checks and all special checks such as bonus pay). About 4000 employees per paayroll. Transactions vary from pp to pp, but average between 125-175 per pp, including new hires of about 50 a month.

Our 340 non-exempt people are paid semi-monthly and 800 exempt are paid monthly. We average about 50 actions per month, including new hires, terms, transfers and such.
Hope this helps.

My current client has 40,000 employees - a near even split between exempt and non-exempt - pays semi-monthly and has 800-1000 PAs / month

Thanks to all for the response. I'm finding, although we're government, we actually process like a high-turnover retail establishment. We're monthly, pay approximately 10500 people per month, and we process about 3500 to 4000 actions per month. Yikes!!
