Maybe I have just been getting lucky, but it seems like with RMI gone I don't run into issues when doing reorgs any more.
Yeah, in the old days you had to be sure RMI was down before doing a dbreorg - that's because RMI opens, and holds open, a direct path into the DB to speed up access. With RMI out of the way in LSF9.0 you no longer have that issue. Plus there were a LOT of enhancements done for DB access in 9.0 that were not available previously.
Yeah I have been holding back my judgment on 9.0 but I have to say that I am starting to really like all the changes. Some of the components are unnecessarily complicated and I have NO love for pflow bugs but overall I have to say that this is a far superior product to 8. Now we have to wait and see what comes next.
