The Lawson Change Control documentation is finally available. It allows an IT group maintaining Lawson to track customizations within Lawson, and thus to keep a handle on how much such customizations cost. The tracking spreadsheet can be used both as an accurate indicator of how much time all customizations will cost to re-apply, and as a tracking tool when implementing CTP's and MSP's.
It's taken over 2 years to complete. Documentation includes:
. - Full explanation of theory and practice, with instructions on how to use the LCC system
. - Blank LCC document and Master spreadsheet, ready to fill in
. - Example document and spreadsheet, from our own experience
The areas covered are the base areas affected by CTP's, MSP's, and Upgrades. The web layers are not covered.
The LCC system is relatively small and easy to use. This is intentional, because it has to be complete in order to work, and too much data entry would make it cumbersome to use. In its current form it works well for my company. If it is necessary to change estimates, many parameters are directly adjustable.
I have permission to share this with anyone who is interested. Due to my company's restrictive email filters, I can only send it out from my private email address. If you want a copy of the Lawson Change Control system, email me at milotsukroff @ vh.net.
Hi Milo - I can't thank you enough!! What a terrific document!
