Title: Unable To Rescind A Term
ohthatsme - November 17, 2006 06:13 PM (GMT)
Good afternoon,
A HR Lawson user came to me with an issue
Apparently the wrong employee was inadvertently termed back in une with an effective date June 20, 2006.
Since she is a per diem employee, it was noticed until she was called back to work in September 2006.
The system will not allow me to reverse the action using the June 20th date. When I try I get an error message stating "eff date must be > level 1 stop date" Any reasons why I would this message, and more importantly how to correct it.

smilie
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks!

Check your PA13.2 record for this employee. This error normally occurs when there is another PAEMPPOS record with later dates than the record you are trying to fix. Also take a look at PA55 and make sure that there are no Retro Hist Audits that may be interfering. If so you may need to run PA113.
Most likely there has been some other change that created a new position record after the 06/20 term. Since the ee was termed I wouldn't think this would normally occur but I've seen it happen before with errant data entry.

Are you reversing the action using the Reverse feature or by entering another action with the old values?

hi
I went in pa54 and used the main screen ( not the special screen) & tried to change the status and term date from terminated status and term date to an active status and *blank term date.
I rec'd an error message "eff date > most recent change date on field"
thx in advance for your response

Lawson's Knowledge Base has article 937020 specifically dealing with this error. Basically, you should reverse the action with PA52 (as opposed to PA54). Good luck!!

We have had a run of miss entered terms recently and if you are getting this error someone has entered an additional change to the employee after the term. You may have to reverse that action first to be able to back out the term. if the second action would then need to be rentered if it is valid. But I have found that end users tend to think if they ignore bad data it will go away.
I just cleaned up a term where the employee termed. then recieved a pay increase then changed supervisors and then termed again.
