Is there anyone out there using SA to manage projects and resource capacity in their organizations? We are beginning to experiment to see how SA can solve our portfolio, project and resource management needs. We are rolling out timesheets now, but just to track payroll hours. Next step is activity tracking which means setting up the projects in SA. After that, we would like to forecast resource usage. We of course, are are still defining a project management process so this is challenging. In other words, some folks use MS Project, some Excel and no one really does resource planning in a system. Wondering if others face the same challenge?
The biggest weakness of SA it that you cannot set up child tasks attached to parents. Please be aware that the intgration to microsoft project is also not very well supported and you would need the exact versions of SA to work with the exact versions of microsoft project and activity management.
