Title: E-broadcasting To Lbi
Description: Are there any other options with LSF9?

We use e-Broadcasting extensively to distribute reports that we created in 4gl. From what we've been told, we have to move to LBI prior to upgrading to LSF9. I've starting gathering pricing and talking to consultants, and it looks like this is going to be a pretty big undertaking, from both a financial and resource view. (We really weren't expecting to have to make this move, especially before upgrading to LSF9.) Do we have any other choices that would be quicker or less expensive? Are there any other ebc users starting to plan for this upgrade?

I'm sorry to say I don't know of any other option. All the reporting functions along with SmartNotes were all rolled into the single LBI package.

I'll be looking forward to other member's posts to see if anyone has figured out a creative solution.

g'luck!

tori, a few questions:

1. what are your reasons for wanting to move off eBroadcasting?
2. what specific applications and features of LBI are you looking to implement?
3. do you currently own any other products for reporting and analytics?

there is a major administrative cost involved in setting up LBI or any enterpise wide reporting system that utilized data authorization (bursting/view time filtering). Some of this time can be mitigated if you focus on the answers of the first two questions. also, by doing the appropriate current state/future state analysis you can cut out a large portion of external resource time (aka consultants). Essentially Im talking talking about Business Process Management (BPM). Check out the publication Intelligent Enterprise. Its an industry publication that focuses on this and other concepts.

We don't necessarily want to move off of e-Broadcasting. We have been told that we cannot use e-Broadcasting with LSF9, and that we have to be on LBI prior to upgrading to LSF9. We use process flow, but don't currently use any other reporting or analytics products, however, if we move to LSF9, I could see us using Smart Notifications. Also, we have reports from other applications that we would probably want to publish through the LBI dashboard.
