Title: Insurance Deduction Doubling
Description: 2 Identical Records in PR14 and PR15

An employee just mentioned that she's been overcharged for her health ins premium since January. BN32 is correct, annual premium is $379.46, or $14.59 per pay period. PR51 shows $29.18 every pay period for the year for health ins. It's hard to see on the PR14, but there are 2 identical records there for this ded, and it's very easy to see on the PR15.2.

So how did this happen? I can't enroll her in a plan she's already in. I can't add a deduction that already exists. It's easy to fix, but how'd it get there to begin with? Has anyone else seen this?

Every now and then I see duplicate deductions like this. Vanilla Lawson allows a user to ADD a "benefit" deduction directly on PR14/PR15; that's usually the first thing I check into. If it's not that, I have seen BN105 runs create duplicates (haven't figured out exactly what causes it yet).

I can tell the difference between the two by looking at the Sequence Number field in the EMDEDMASTR file. If the field is blank it usually means the deductions was entered directly on PR14/PR15. If it has a value, it means one of the BN programs (our experience has been BN105 but it could probably be any of them) malfunctioned and created a duplicate instead of ending the old and starting the new.

Karen, thanks for your help. I checked the file, and these both happen to have seq numbers. I'm glad to know where to look, and appreciate knowing someone else has seen this.
