I have a client that has purchased Lawson GL and Hyperion.
They have a couple of Hyperion guys in-house that are implementing Hyperion without using any Lawson delivered functionality. They're basically going directly to the database using their tools and it just seems like the Lawson delivered tools could be leveraged to help speed things up and make room for some best practices.
My questions are:
1) What tools/extensions/hooks are available in Lawson to work with hyperion? I noticed something called cubebuilder, what is that?
2) Has anyone worked with this recently on 9.0 and can shed some light on the topic in general?
3) Anyone interested in working on such a project?
Thanks

Cube Builder is only for MS Analytic Services. The Lawson products that would concern you are Analytic Architect, which loads data from Lawson into your OLAP database, and Scorecard, which reports off of it. Analytic Architect is the Lawson IA system on the application server, and it requires that you have installed the Essbase APIs on your app server and linked them into lacobrts.
Thanks Phil,
That actually answers a lot of question for me. I ended up reading a couple of support docs that helped a lot as well. I'll be looking into a lot more tomorrow and I am hoping to figure it all out on my own. :ph43r: Style !
Cheers

You poor guy! You'll have to keep at least 2 people full-time just to keep the system going, plus a couple more people for interfacing to it.
My prior employer bought it. They hand-coded the interfaces themselves, w/o the luxury of a cube builder, and it was (and still is) a maintenance-intensive application. Notice I didn't say a nightmare, since for all of that money your company paid, it does work well.
Can you say, Guaranteed Employment?
