I found out the hard way that when I make a change in IC11 it does not carry over to the PAR location. I'm trying to change item despriction in the par loc and also manuf info. If i try to do it in the IC12 record it tells me to go to IC81 to make changes. There is no place in IC81 to make these kind of changes. ANyone have any suggestions?
Changes to the item description and mfg number in IC11 will follow through to the PARs automatically. IC520 pulls this information from IC11 when it creates the IC520ITEM file. You can't use IC331 to update the item description or mfg info on a PAR. At least in my 8.0.3 world. Can you explain what you mean by "finding out the hard way"?
I found out the hard way when I changed manuf codes in IC11 but none of the changes appeared in IC81. I did learn that a description change does update IC81.
When you try to change the manufact code in IC12 for the par location lawson says to do it in IC81. There is no field to change for manufact codes in IC81!!
My advice is really only relevant to v.8.0.x... and my understanding is that it is not officially supported by Lawson.

Look on the "Fields" tab and at the bottom-right corner is where you would change the manufacturer part number. You can also use MS Add-Ins to address this screen.

This is an official/unofficial paint screen. Official in the sense that Lawson built and provided it. Unofficial because, as I said, I do not believe Lawson is supporting, nor are they making it available in v.9.x. But it is a paintscreen and you can do A LOT (!!!) of damage to your system if you are not careful.
