We are upgrading in the near future to:
AIX 5.2
then ENV 8.0.3.7 (along with IOS/CC/PF and portal 3.1)
(Eventually aix 5.3, (sometime,After the newyear) getting new boxes & up to LSF9 & websphere.)


I am looking for some suggestions on upgrading Apache/Tomcat As well as Java to (1.4). Any advice or pointers will be greatly appreciated, as I have no experience installing apache/tomcat.
There are alot of downloads out there and I have been reading many posts.

What versions would be best suited and (when to upgrade in this path.)

What is the best source & install documentation.

Since you already have plans to go to LSF9 I'd recommend taking the plunge and installing WebSphere. it's where you'll need to be eventually and getting a head start won't hurt you at all. You will get WAS and HTTPServer (which is just Apache) when you license LSF9.

As for install docs, the ones that come with the env are pretty good, but if they don't do it for you then contact Lawson Profesional Services and one of us will show up with a smiling face and do it for you (and teach you how in the bargain!)
