Provide functional and technical expertiseMy Client, a services organization that is HQ'd on the PA/NJ border is looking for Lawson Application Support Analyst with a broad knowledge of database and application concepts, practices, and procedures.
SUMMARY:
Provide functional and technical expertise to formulate database and application scope and objectives, develops and/or modifies procedures to solve problems. Prepare documentation for databases and applications, performs multiple software support functions and is familiar with workstation and server hardware platforms. Assignments are in technical, and business functional areas.
DESCRIPTION:
•Develops and recommends alternative development approaches to realize desired specifications and/or enhancements based on user requirements. Performs feasibility studies, life cycle analysis and/or cost/benefit studies
•Designs, documents, creates, installs, analyzes, modifies and or supports existing databases and applications across client server and desktop platforms, to ensure user requirements/program objectives are met.
•Develops documentation including the use of flowcharts, project specifications and diagrams to translate user requirements into programming language; develops/modifies illustrations of program sequences necessary to meet user requirements.
•Analyzes new and existing vendor software; provides installation, maintenance and customization of vendor software as required.
•Monitors database and application performance to detect errors; applies testing procedures/methodologies (e.g., diagnostic software) and provides interpretation of data.
•Provides support for applications associated with databases.
•Installs and maintains operating systems and database software and related application software to ensure stable performance.
•Evaluates database and application specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
•Develops and installs databases and applications requiring MS SQL, Oracle, Informix, Sybase, or My SQL.
•Develops and installs and maintains databases to support general business applications.
Evaluates, installs and maintains database management systems.
•Plans computerized databases, including base definition, schema, structure, documentation, long-range requirements, operational guidelines and protection.
•Applies expertise in business applications and databases to support customers operational needs.
•Provides guidance to and assist in the training of less experienced staff;
•Experience with Lawson HR/Payroll, Sungard BiTech IFAS, MF COBOL, a plus
