Title: 401k Updates Thru Ess

Has anyone been able to create an ESS screen that is capable of doing updates to the 401K percentage? Is so please explain how you the ESS screen works.

If not, here's a more broad question: Can you update your benefits in ESS, outside of the open enrollment period? Is there any special case that could make this possible?

Isn't the whole point of "Life Events" to help you update benefits as well?

Thanks

I talked with Lawson awhile ago about updating DC plan elections (403b plans in my instance) in ESS outside an annual enrollment period. The reply was 'we have no plans to add this functionality'.

We do use ESS for new hire and newly-eligible enrollments outside the annual re-enrollment period. We don't use Life Events functionality, but I think it would work if we did. For New Hires, Newly Eligibles, and ReHires, we assign the employee to an employee group with the appropriate name; we have a BS03.3 record built for each employee group to allow enrollment via ESS. For Life Events, a BS03.2 record should allow those employees to use ESS to make changes per the rules built.

We have a solution ... We use a Process Flow to change the date for open enrollment. In other words, we change the open enrollment date every day telling the system that everyday is open enrollment for 401(k).......

It works well.... We also asked Lawson for this as an enhancement and we were told that it was a good idea that they were considering.

Thanks we ended up using Design Studio and going against the BN32.3 to make the changes and stops. All I can say that it wasn't easy but it is going to save a LOT of time. Works great now!
