We have been customizing the BN106 to create HIPAA compliant 834 files on the insurance carriers. The standard BN106 does not create the standard 834 file.
Does anyone else send 834 files to insurance carriers? If so, how do you do this?
Also, would you be interested in partnering to either push Lawson to include this in a standard release, or joining efforts for customization?
Thanks,
Dave
We are just in the testing phase for the 834 file.
A good site to use to verify that your file meets the standards is:
http://www.collabrus.com/I am writing a conversion program in RPG which is mostly complete and I have passed the validation testing with one of our insurers.
We use the data compiled from the BN106 in a custom Access program I wrote that converts it to the ANSI834 format.
I have been reporting with this format for medical for 2 years now. It takes me about 15-20 minutes to process/ I verify my data at each step.
With our dental carrier I send a full file every two weeks and that takes about 5-10 minutes because I call pull all active and not just changes, terms and news.
