Title: Dual User Accounts (hr)
Description: Correct Access Levels

shanesmj - May 16, 2006 01:24 AM (GMT)
What does everyone do for their HR department access to Lawson? We have HR employees that do not have access to everyone's payroll and since we lock down payroll they are not able to see their own payroll information.

I setup two user accounts for everyone - one with HR access and one with personal access. I just setup access with different HR levels and it is working HOWEVER...

Someone said that Inbasket items for managers in the department will not work. I do not see why but I am wondering if Inbasket items link the the employee number in RD30 or some other field???

Any thoughts?

We ran across the same issue and used the same solution you did by setting up mulitiple accounts. Some employees have seperate accounts for manager self-service, requisition self-service, and employee self-service because they have different levels of access in each of those online modules. We are hoping that the improved security model in the latest version will address our issues with this.

The inbasket task is assigned to the RD30 Id as long as they are loging in with the correct Id they should be fine. If you are using employee id as some type of key then having multiple records could mess some things up. I would look at the query that is determining the inbasket placement.
