I'm trying to find (or create) a comprehensive list of our accounting units, and all accounts mapped to each accounting unit. GL222 is ALMOST what I want, except it's sorted the other way - it lists the account, and what accounting units are associated with them.

Is there a canned report that will do this for me, or can someone point me to the table that defines the permitted accounts in GL20.2? I realize that with ~100 accounting units, and several hundred accounts that this would be a rather long report, but that's what I'm needing.

There is no canned report to get what you are looking for. You can use Crystal or MSADDINS to pull the information in the GLMASTER table.
