Title: Pay Code Set-up Help
Description: Pay Code as a replacement amount

Hi........We are on Lawson 8.0.3 MSP9. Does anyone know how to set-up a paycode as a flat replacement amount for an employee base wage? This is a Union thing, we have a facility whose employee's earn $.13 for every hour they work for Uniform allowance. I can't seem to find a Calculation type on the PR20.4 that would override the employee rate of pay with the $.13 cents. The hours to calculate this are coming straight from the facilities time clock so I just need to be able to calculate the hours by $.13.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated as we are processing their first payroll next Monday. :banghead:
Thanks much, Patti

Good morning, Patti - if you're using a time clock, will the rate shift differential work for you? Good luck!!

The rate shift differential will only add an amount to the base rate.....Right?

Correct - its very easy using a time collection system - the rate differencial (i.e work 15 hours, differential is 15 * .13 per hour), or, if you have special pay codes for your union employees, you could use the shift table, also. :thumb:

If the wage amount should be Hours multiplied by 13cents,
and if hours are coming from timekeeping system for only the eligible employees,
then test this on pr20.4
Pay Code Calc Type field = Normal Rate
Rate field = 0.13.
I believe the amount in PR20.4 Rate field will override the ee pay rate field amount.

Just an update in case anyone wants to know. I was able to use the PR20.4 with the "R" Normal Rate for calculation type and $.13 in the rate field. However, the only way the rate would override the base rate was to add a paycode for every job code that gets the uniform allowance. Kind of tedious but I'm relieved it worked. Thanks to those who responded you gave me ideas for the set-up that I hadn't thought about.
