I work for a local government in central NC that is just implementing Lawson.
I get to be : General system administrator (CTP installer, etc), security administrator, report writer, backup Oracle DBA, Websphere administrator, and most everything else in Lawson.

(After this I have the trifecta of ERP implementations, having survived PeopleSoft at AT&T/Lucent and SAP at Avaya).

We are running 8.1 Apps on 8.0.3 environment.
Sun Solaris with Oracle 10.
Portal under Websphere, remote installation (separate web server and app server).

We are implementing Finance, HR,Payroll, Requisition Self Service, Employee Self Service, possible vendor self service.

I may return with questions about Websphere configuration.

Welcome to the mix - sounds like you'll have your hands full. We're here to help, so let us know when you have questions or problems. There's a high likelyhood that at least ONE of us have already paved that trail.

Where are you in Central NC? We have many clients in that part of the country. I'm doing an install at a new one in Greensboro right now.

If you've not done so already, check out the Regional Users Groups on support.lawson.com - CLUE (Carolina Lawson Users Exchange) is a good group. I used to be a member when I was working for a Lawson client in Wilmington, NC - still live there..
