Title: Who's Going To Cue 2006?
Description: Who'll be in Orlando, FL Apr. 9-12?

Milo - March 17, 2006 06:41 PM (GMT)
Who will be in Orlando, Florida for Lawson CUE 2006 (Conference and User Exchange) from April 9 through April 12? I will be there - all registered and paid for, hotel booked, rail tickets delivered, sessions signed up for.

Do you think that LawsonTALK T-shirts will be welcome, or will they be :banned: ?

LawsonsNbr1Fan - March 17, 2006 06:45 PM (GMT)
I'll be there. Has anyone heard what Lawson has in store for us this year?

ScottZ - March 17, 2006 07:25 PM (GMT)
I'll be there as well.

I was glad to see that they increased the number of academies being offered this year. I got more out of the academies last year than I did the regular sessions.

Does anyone know how far the two hotels are apart? Walking distance I hope, but I couldn't tell from Map quest and it looks like I'll be constantly going back and forth between the two.

I'm signed up and paid for but may not get the chance to take that much time off. Too bad too, I really wanted to make it this year. But we'll see.

Hmmm, I don't think Lawson would see LawsonTalk as any kind of a threat, if anything they should be happy their users have such a strong base and are willing to form a community. I might wear a Tshirt just to start conversations with people on the board :) That's IF I'm going :baby:

P.S. What do the blue blocks next to my name mean?

lawson - March 17, 2006 08:56 PM (GMT)
The blue blocks are a representation of how many posts you have made to the forum. They're set rather low now so we might increase the requirement for upgrades as more and more post are submitted but for now ...

Unfortunately I'm sceduled at a client and can't make CUE this year. I don't see ho wthe T-Shirts could be a proble, The Topica SysAdmin Group has an informal cocktail reception/Meet-n-Greet each year and they all wear TOPICA badges to recognize each other - T-shirts on LawsonTalk members would be a handy recognition tool.

You could walk it but they are still about 1/2 mile or more apart. You also have to cross a very busy SR535 highway (4 lanes plus turn lanes). Then if it is hot and humid as it tends to be here in Orlando (even in April) you have to deal with that as well. I'm sure Lawson will provide plenty of shuttle service between the two hotels.

I was a bit disappointed that with all the hotels and convention centers here in Orlando they had to split it between two hotels. But since I work in Orlando I will be attending.

I'll be there. Anybody hear who the entertainment is yet? I got the email today asking me if I'd want to spend a day landscaping for a snack and a beverage. Too bad I already signed up for a day's worth of academies.

I don't think they have said who the entrtainment would be for the tauesday evening event but it is being held at Flights of Fantasy about 18-20 miles down the road from the hotel. I am not sure about anyone else but did you just have to camp on the lawson website to register for the limited seating sessions? There were several that were full before I opened the email that said I needed to sign up.

The musical group Tuesday night is Chicago :afro: There's also a comedian beforehand. And the session sign-ups started over a month ago. I'm not suprised many are full now.

Registration for CUE has been a nightmare ever since Digital Concourse got involved.

LawsonsNbr1Fan - March 23, 2006 05:32 PM (GMT)
Chicago huh?

I bet I can predict the band line up for the next 5 years:
Next year: REO speedwagon
Then: Beachboys
Then: Kansas
Then: Journey
Then: Eagles

Says a lot about the demographics of the average Lawson CUE user's age.

strandb - March 23, 2006 06:35 PM (GMT)
Already saw REO Speedwagon. They played with Styx at CUE 2000 in San Diego. :D

Actually, yes I did just about camp on the site. I was on there registering for sessions before I got that email. I was really annoyed last year when all of those academies filled up before I even got the notification that I could pick my sessions.

It was still a pain the _ss though because the site was really flaky and I kept getting bumped out. I couldn't really confirm any of my selections until a day or so later.
