Please help. I'm trying desperately, with absolutely no result, to find out what we need to do to use Vertex for Lawson Sales Tax calculations. We currently have Vertex Quantum - but for a non-Lawson system. We never needed to calculate Sales Tax within Lawson. Now, we do. We would like to take advantage of the fact that we have Vertex and tie that to Lawson.
Not a single person, even those at GSC and beyond ... can help tell me if we have what we need. They keep telling me to read the manuals. I'm ready to lose my mind.
I know we have the API(s) we need - but I don't believe we have the Tax Tools that are required to tie Vertex to Lawson. I believe those are at a cost - but I can't even find that out.
Can anybody help?
We are on Oracle, Unix, Apps 8.0.3 MSP8, Env 8.0.3 ESP4
Thanks SO much in advance
Laura:
Wish I could figger it out, however we don't have the correct modules installed. My 2-cents'-worth -- from what I remember from a prior non-Lawson system -- is that the call to the tax modules was a call from _within_ the programs to the tax programs' interface. That may require customization in COBOL. Probably (and again, I don't have access to the appropriate OE screens) you will have to change a call to an internal Lawson tax routine and add in the Vertex info.
Actually, IMHO, I think that you are getting a run-around because This Is a Job For Super-Consultant. At mucho buck$ per hour. Real cheap! :rau:
