Title: Ap Proposed Payment Report
Description: How to set a snapshot of the payments du

Hello everybody

We are just developing systems to fit with our new Lawson Software which we will be piloting later this year. I have a requirement to lock down the payment listing after running AP150 so it can be reviewed (and changed) before running it in update mode.

Our Consultants tell us this is not 'Lawson Best Practice' as the invoices will have been appreved at an earlier stage. Are we the only organisation who like to review the payment run before releasing it? I would be very interested to know if anyone out there has found a work round for this.

I look forward to hearing from you.

If you are looking to change the technology, it is always a good idea to evaluate the process first. Before asking how Lawson can fit to your process, it is sometimes worth looking at why you do things in that particular order and why it is a requirement.

I'm not an AP person though, so this may be a very legitimate question. I've just seen too many unnecessary customizations to Lawson. Customizations that were done because with the process, that's just always the way we've always done it, and not necessarily the best way to do it.

Can you be a bit more specific in what it is you are trying to accomplish? Lawson AP does have a built in approval process that could be used - invoices are entered, but not released until approved.

What do you mean by Locked down? The AP150 will show what will be payed. If it has invoices that you do not want to be paid, you can change the invoice due date or discount date thru AP30.3, rerun AP150; put seleced invoices or vendors on hold thru AP40, rerun AP150, etc...this info is available in the AP Users guide and also on the form help for AP150.

Once you get a satisfactory listing from AP150 in report mode, run it again in Update mode, then complete your payment process. It seems you have several options already available to you without having to customize anything.
