Title: Payment Modeling
Description: In the Employee Portal

theking75 - March 3, 2006 10:12 PM (GMT)
Anyone using the Employee Portal have the payment modeling screen under the payment tab working correctly? In our Employee Portal, if you make a change to any of the fields on the Payment Modeling Screen, it empties out all of the dedcution fields and the new net income figure it calculates is not correct. We have been working with Lawson to try and correct this for months now and it still does not work. I would really like to know if this is a bug or an issue on our side so knowing if this is or isn't working for other Lawson users would be very helpful. Thanks.

What version of APPS and ESS/MSS module are you using?

I think our Sysadmin had to put in a CTP to fix this (on version 8.0.3). It works fine now. GSC should be able to give you the patch number.

The GSC has had me apply about 6 patches so far and nothing has worked. We are running ENV 8.0.3.6 (the latest upgrade they had me do to try and fix the problem) and 8.0.3.9 Apps. We are running Employee and Manager Portal 8.0.3.6. We plan on moving to Employee Self-Service soon since Employee and Manager Portal is being de-commissioned. Maybe that will fix it.

We don't use Portal, but other than making sure that the Deduction Cycle was set to defalt to the one where EVERYBODY gets paid, most of our Payment Modeling issues haven't actually been with the ESSC, but the PR89. We applied a number of patches from the GSC, but those seemed to cause NEW problems. Not holding out much hope for getting this fixed in the near future. Doesn't seem to be a big priority at Lawson or with our IT team.

We are currently on 8.1 and it seems to be working fine. The only problem I have run into is that it doesn't take into consideration the FICA cap for Highly compensated employees. It doesn't show that tax either so if an exec trys to use the payment model anytime after midyear it isn't accurate. We had one exec who wanted to send the entire last paycheck to retirement but still recieved an $800 check. But for the rank and file employee it seems to work well.

CTP 40535 finally got us working. Thanks for all of your replies.
