Title: Hr/pr/bn Processflows
trezaei - June 9, 2008 06:33 PM (GMT)
I'm trying to find some examples of useful processflows for HR, PR and BN for a client who owns processflow and is trying to find useful things to do with it :D
Anything you guys could recommend?
Thanks

Do they use Manager Self Service? We use it for about 13 PA flows - term's, transfers, promotions, salary changes, etc... to go thru the manager approval process and notifications. If they have the new Integrator product, they could automate adding/removing users in RM.

We're testing the Job Req flow and are very close to putting it into production. But our major use is for notifications like upcoming performance reviews, expiring teaching licenses, etc, etc, etc. that could also be done with Smart Notes.
These "nofication" process flows have been very well received by HR, supervisors and everyone else who gets them.

I really think that the only way to really know what Flows are needed is to meet with different groups to find what they are manually doing. Sometimes different people need to be notified when something is changed and you can automate that notification.
For example, address changes might need to be sent to security or position changes need to be sent to finance, etc... One thing I really like about Process Flow is that you can create what works for your process - but I have learned that it is difficult to create a flow that will work for every company.
Examples of our flows:
Salary change (with approvals)
Address change
New hire Benefit enrollment reminder
New hire Benefit elections
Notification of non election
Benefit group entry based on location
Audit for bonus plan
Cost Center verification email to supervisors
Direct deposit reminder
Name Change
Supervisor audit
On-call associates that have not been paid
new hire notification
Request for preferred name
Survey to help improve the recruiting process
Web in-basket items that need approval
Etc....
I hope this helps...

I have a similar issue. Currently we are using an outside benefits vendor - who uses their own brand of process flow... (!) - It’s is paperless...works marginally
However, upper management wants now use Lawson self serve... which is fine, but they do not want to create a process flow for benefits changes due to a status change. i can't explain why.. wish I knew...
Ex - EE A goes from PER DIEM (non ben elig) to full time. A personnel action is created on PA52, but they want us to manually notify the affected ee, so she can enroll online
There must be a way to create a process flow so that when we have status change that affects benefits that the affected ee is notified. I really don’t want to tell my manager we have to go backwards to paper again...
Any ideas or example or links with similar examples...
Thanks - all and any ideas greatly appreciated...

Hi shanesmj
Can you share any the p flows you discuss in your post, to serve as possible examples that this is doable, -?
thanks

kicking off an email to the employee on a field change is fairly easy. The one thing you have to check into is if this same field is available to be changed in other Actions. The simplest approach is if it is only changed on one defined PA. If it can be changed on other PA's, and they still want the email notification to go out on those as well, it still can be done using the same method, but it will depend on if you already have flows kicked off by those actions or not. The employee email address will need to be in Lawson (HR11), or and RD30 record if ENV8.0.3.x, or in RM if LSF9. If you have LSF9 AND Integrator, then you could query your domain LDAP to get the email address.
Create the flow to query the employe information and the PA52 action on the employee. If you need it to notify based on a particular current value changing to a particular or a set of values, test for these and if they meet your criteria, then email the employee. If want to email no matter what the current value is, but only when a certain or set of NEW values are present, then just test to the new value from the PA52 record and email accordingly.
Also, will these be Immediate Actions?
