Title: Laua Automation
Description: Security

I'd like to know if anyone on the board has looked into automating the updates to laua or or is looking at automating security updates under the new LS 9.0 release. Specifically, Users/Security Classes forms and functions. Would it be possible to update the GEN tables (8.X) in order to accomplish this? What support issues might this cause? And is anyone looking at methods for the new 9.0 LS release?

I know some sites have experimented with online regression testing type tools to drive laua but this seems tedious.

A lot of time (tons) is spent performing this task at all client sites. Are there any automated methods for 9.0?

Thanks.

It looked like your other post was identical so it was removed. :D

I thought that 9.0 would just have all this functionality built into it

At one time I had some nifty scripts to upload laua security. It saved me a ton of time instead of re-keying it all. I had been using the importdb to get them into the various GEN tables. It worked fine for several years, however it was/is totally unsupported by Lawson. They don't like it when you do that! After some ESP was applied I started getting some flaky stuff and decided to quit using it. Haven't gone back to look into how to adjust the process - no time.
