Title: 9.0 App Upgrade
Description: 8.0.3 MSP11 to 9.0 Apps

I see a lot of topics related to LSF 9 upgrade/migration, but not many for the apps.
We have completed the LSF and are tackling Security starting the next month or so, then to Applications.
Currently on MSP11, and no plans to do MSP12 (Which I just find ironic being released GA ETA 04/08 when 8.0.3 is decomish May 09!!) anyway...
Looking for others experience as far as the time to make the upgrade.
We have the whole "kit and kaboodle" of Lawson suites-AP, GL, HR, PR, AC, AM, PO, IC, RQ, MPC, SMR etc.
No ESS/MSS but is under development and may be there before the app upgrade starts.
We have PF, but nothing running at the moment.

Anyone who has made the move that would like to share pitfalls or things you wish you would have done different, it would greatly appreciated.

Thx
Dave

We upgraded from 7.2.5 to 9.0.1 Apps. That was a hurdle. We had to use a consultant to do the heavy lifting. The biggest problem was database changes, since the apps actually aren't that changed. Fortunately, it's still the good old rock-solid COBOL in the back end. Nice, because It. Just. Works.

My suggestion is, relax, it won't be half as bad as you think. The LSF9 install is a major pain in the derrierre, but Apps are just the usual thing of, upgrade the compiler, upgrade the apps, go through a few db conversions if necessary, and there you are.

Biggest pitfall: Never, ever, get so far behind as we were!! :bonk:

Thanks Milo.
Did you do any functionality upgrades?
With the 9.0 Apps there are things that couldn't be done on 803, or in your case 725's like line level approval, Invoice Approvals, some Inventory Location functionality etc.
We never seem to come back and adjust and roll out some of that. Constant struggle with that.... :tyson:
We were supposed to have a "Phase 2" when we went live 4 years ago to do some automation of processes, and never got there. Org's focus shifted once we got up and running...

Again, thanks again for any input.
