What You Will Do--Position Summary:
The Lawson HR/PR Support Specialist handles customer call issues involving Lawson Software application environments. These calls will be complex involving application setup, administration and availability with a focus on The Human Resources **HR-Suite and an emphasis on Payroll. The Support Specialist will work with his/her team members, other “The Companies” resources and the Lawson GSC (if required) to identify and resolve more difficult issues with the Lawson software in an effort to identify defects, develop application workarounds and resolve customer issues. Issues will be entered in a call database and tracked through to resolution.
Responsibilities include:
** Handle incoming telephone calls and electronically reported issues from customers.
** Accurately describe and maintain status of each issue entered in call database.
** Analyze, test and resolve Lawson software defects, administration issues and end user training issues, working directly with customers, “the companies” systems, networking and operations staff, customer implementation specialists and outside resources such as the Lawson GSC, all as appropriate.
** Handle and resolve Lawson systems and application availability and performance issues.
** Coordinate and execute Lawson upgrade programs for ASP customers.
** Train customers and other support specialists in Lawson product administration as needed.
** Develop knowledge of Lawson software products and new product upgrades, as they become available.
** Track Lawson product upgrade and patch statuses.
** Must be able to work regularly scheduled shifts between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm.
Must be available for after hours coverage for critical software issues, as needed.
What We Are Looking For:
The attributes listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, education and experience, or abilities deemed necessary to achieve success in this position:
** Previous customer support experience, preferably in the Lawson Software arena
** Experience and training in Lawson Software business applications, including Portal
** Experience in supporting and using the HR/Payroll suite of software applications
** Experience in supporting and using Lawson SEA applications including E/MSS
** Experience in supporting and using BSI TaxFactory / TaxLocator
** Basic UNIX Administration Skills – within Lawson and/or Lawson technical experience within HR payroll
** Basic Understanding of Database Objects and Structures
** Good oral and written communication skills
** Familiarity using and supporting the use of a web browser
** Familiarity with the Kronos suite of applications would be a plus

What You Will Do:
The Lawson Technical Support Specialist will focus on supporting, maintaining and updating Lawson and complementary software. The Support Specialist will work with his/her team members and other “The Companies” resources and the Lawson GSC (if required) to identify and resolve more difficult issues with the Lawson software in an effort to identify defects, develop workarounds and resolve customer issues related to use. The workload will be driven both by customer calls received in a Service Desk environment and proactive project activities. The specialist will manage customer-facing issues within a service desk database and track them through to resolution.
Duties:
Responsibilities for this position are listed below. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
• Apply in-depth technical analysis of Lawson issues to solve customer reported problems.
• Debug Lawson core applications and solve problems reported with extensions
• Setup Lawson users, printers, job scheduler, etc.
• Promote customizations after acceptance through “the companies” Production Control Process.
• Follow a disciplined and defined Change Management Process.
• Upgrade Lawson software through the application of ESP, MSP, CTP and TSP’s.
• Provide after hours support for customers as required on a rotating basis.
• Tracking of Lawson product upgrade and patch statuses
• Provide Support for customer ‘Go Live’ tasks including but not limited to testing of custom interfaces, modifications, data conversions, data copies/refreshes, backup procedures, etc.
• Work with Manager, Customer Support and Technical Lead on QA procedures.
• Work issues via phone and email support.
