Title: Hs03 Lock Out Dates

We will soon be implementing EMSS Web Time Entry and are defining our lock out dates for the HS03. This is an optional setting. We pay our employees bi-weekly. They are paid current for regular earnings and exception time is paid two weeks behind. For example, pay period is 02/3/08 through 02/16/08. On the 02/15/08 check, employees will be paid 80 hours of regular earnings via the PR134 and exception time for days from 01/20/08 through 02/02/08. We produce payroll one week in advance (02/08/08 in this example). If there is anyone with a similar pay schedule I would appreciate hearing how you use the lock out dates.

Although we're not on the same payroll schedule/frequency as you, I'll put my two cents in - you'd want your lockout dates, if used, to coincide with when you're grabbing your exception time records for processing. Based on your example below, it's difficult for me to determine your processing time (for instance, we start our payroll cycle, perform validation and correcitons, and then close - over a 4 day period), but I wouold think if you're going to prevent additional data entry, it would be whenever you begin your payroll processing. Good luck!! :thumb:

Do you keep in locked for the full 4 days or just for the day you are pulling the web time entry time cards through HS535 and PR530?

We don't currently use lock out dates, but yes, in our instance, we would need to be locked out the entire time - we, too, pay current, and wouldn't have the different exception time records that you're processing, which would be where your concern would be I think.
