Title: Error Installing Ctp
trezaei - January 18, 2008 02:18 AM (GMT)
So I was installing CTP 51432 to prepare for the bSI 8 install (don't ask why I'm donig this now) and everything went stellar until it came time for my srgen. I got a bunch of errors like:
| CODE |
Processing d:\lawprod\linte\APPS\prod8\glsrc\GL.sr Line 538: [MEMORY OVERWRITE WARNING] Exceeded limit of 5 SCRFLDs Processing d:\lawprod\linte\APPS\prod8\hcsrc\HC.sr Processing d:\lawprod\linte\APPS\prod8\hrsrc\HR.sr Line 20: [MEMORY OVERWRITE WARNING] Limit Of 1 RtnFld Exceeded for FUNCTION Processing d:\lawprod\linte\APPS\prod8\ifsrc\IF.sr Line 538: [MEMORY OVERWRITE WARNING] Exceeded limit of 5 SCRFLDs

and some more like:

Processing d:\lawprod\linte\APPS\prod8\glsrc\GL.sr Line 538: [MEMORY OVERWRITE WARNING] Exceeded limit of 5 SCRFLDs Processing d:\lawprod\linte\APPS\prod8\hcsrc\HC.sr Processing d:\lawprod\linte\APPS\prod8\hrsrc\HR.sr Line 20: [MEMORY OVERWRITE WARNING] Limit Of 1 RtnFld Exceeded for FUNCTION Processing d:\lawprod\linte\APPS\prod8\ifsrc\IF.sr Line 538: [MEMORY OVERWRITE WARNING] Exceeded limit of 5 SCRFLDs ...

Anyway, I opened a ticket online and will see the status in the morning but I was hoping one of you has run into this as well.
I should say that I had the dbmode set to -n when I started all this so I don't know if that screwed something up.

Looks like this issue was fixed with an MSP. So I go to apply that but since the activate did not complete it won't let me install that MSP either. Any ideas how to fix THAT?

Well looks like GSC has been a lot more helpful today than I had originally even hoped for.
I ran the CTP activate command again and despite the issues with srgen it yielded a successful result so now I can install MSP11 which looks like a monster of an MSP.
Sheesh, updates to follow.

Can you uninstall the CTP?

We applied that CTP as well, and we are on MSP10...worked fine. Wonder why you need MSP11?

well we had NO MSPs installed at all so I figured I'd just jump to 11 since they're cumalitive. But now we're getting all kinds of issues. with 4 of the PR programs
Mainly PR2897 though. It's killing me.
One more thing that's strange and I hadn't seen before. When I run blddbdict I get a few indexes with warnings like:
Allowing duplicated is not recommended. :nix:
Don't remember seeing those before :nix:
