Title: Employees In State Of Washington
Description: Supplemental pension tax?

michellemack - January 16, 2008 06:52 PM (GMT)
Washington calls it the Supplemental pension tax, but it's actually the employee's contribution to the workers comp fund based on the number of hours they work. Does anyone have employees in Washington?

I know the rate is assigned by the employee's class code so how/where do I set up the rates? :nix: The class code is on the HR11 User field under the Alpha User Fields called WA Labor and Indus (on our system anyway). Would I need a separate deduction code for each class code and then manually enter that code on the PR14 for each employee?

Thanks for any help!

Michelle,
We use the PR18 US Workers Comp Classification to build the rate table. The Class is then populated the HR06 Job Code record. Nothing's on any user field; using UFs means that each employee record needs to be maintained, rather than maintaining just the job code and the rate table.
Do you use HR06 Job Codes?
Lauren

I myself do not use the HR06. Thanks for the tip - I will check with my boss and see if he uses it for HRIS purposes and we can see if we can update it correctly for the Washington deductions.

Thanks!
