Title: Who Is Logged Onto Portal?
Description: The riddle solved!!

Since the first versions of Portal in 8.0.0, admins have asked, "How do I know who is logged on?" and I've always replied,"Just parse your webserver logs and blah, blah, blah..."

As of today I can say "Pickup pu.sh from my website". I just posted pu.sh (pu for Portal Users) at http://www.schronce.net/lawson which parses your IHS/Apache webserver logs to generate either a count or a list of everyone who has had any recent interaction with the webserver. There you'll also find hrpu.sh, which generates a report of hourly user counts and servlet transactions. Soon there will be an extension to LEM to watch the user levels automatically.

Does this work on Windows servers?

Hmm, that's not far from something we do with our web-based software :D It does basically the same thing but outputs the results to a web page for viewing.

Sorry Cindy - "I don't do Windows" and neither do most of my scripts. This one is written to parse Apache/IHS servers, and it MIGHT work on Windows for that webserver, but definitely not for IIS. I welcome anyone who wants to use my logic to code something for IIS. I'll even help - just ask!

Cool Tan, I'm writing something similar now to work for the web output of LEM.

Bummer. That's what I thought. We are strictly a Windows shop.
