Hello All
Is it possible to get another LSF9 setup by simply copying the all the files from one system to another & having a different LDAP setup? Pls help me understand. Thanks.
PS - I've elaborated the same question in the link...

The theory is sound, but I've never tried it. You'd need to update the WebSphere XML files to point to the new server(s), web and app, dump your existing LDAP and manipulate the .ldif files before loading it into a "fresh install" copy of an LDAP. This method will also lead your cloned copy to have the same product line name. Don't foget to copy and manipulate GEN as it has many "required" files for a product line to run - it's not all just in LDAP. Finally the capital DATABASE file will need to be updated.
Honestly, by the time you figure this out you could have installed 3 Lawson's! (or at least 2 I think). With all the extra products that need to be installed (java, perl, NetExpress, BouncyCastle, etc) and the crazy new files that are out there that we're all just learning gI'm not sure the potential saved time is worth the risk and trouble required to figure it out.
If you were following instructions I'm sure people would like to see it and that would work.
Also, if you're using a remote webserver don't forget about your WebSphere endpoint definitions as well as your WS plug-ins that will need to be updated.
