Title: Bsi8.0 Year End Payoll
Description: Upgrade

cBreeze - November 7, 2007 02:32 PM (GMT)
BSI 8.0 requires 8.0.3 env esp7 for the Payroll Year end updates.

Curious if anyone has any contingency plan in place, if you are not going to be on this platform by year end.
In reference to Running payroll and any new tax updates.

Thanks.

Hi CBreeze - initially, we were going to pay BSI an astronomical ransom to continue support when the initial decommission date was 9/30. They told us at that time that if there were tax changes that required programming for v7, they were NOT going to write the data, so we were planning on being on v8 by year end. At this time, I'm not sure there is any possibility for a contingency plan - I received information from Lawson that stated year end programs would not be provided for anyone on v7, which means no W2's if you're not on 8.

Is this really true?
I just finished chatting with LIS about this. What they said was:

You can apply the patches for BSI 8 (without installing BSI 8) and go forward with the year-end stuff, cross your fingers and hold your breath really tight and hope that's enough, but they won't support you on issues if anything goes wrong.

this is total BS at this point for us. We're coming off of Lawson payroll after the first of the year and switching to SAP (don't ask) and we were hoping we wouldn't have to apply any patches at this point.

All I know is that it will get a lot more insteresting before it's done.

If you guys don't mind I am going to start a new thread to discuss this further and try to determine what our specific options are.
