Title: Manual Ic142 Requisitions
Description: Manually Creating an IC142 RQ10 Document

According to a recent GSC session on the issue, Lawson has removed the ability to manually add a replenishment document as an IC142 user for inventory locations in 9.0 (I've been instructed this was also removed in 8.1). This leaves an inventory manager with no means to manually create an inventory replenishment document.

We're transitioning to an all-electronic requisition process to capture electronic approvals and really need this ability. Any suggestions on how to replace this functionality? I'd appreciate anything anyone can offer. Thanks.

I don't have a direct answer to your question. I do, however, have a couple of questions for you.

My understanding, from our initial investigation of 9.0 apps, is that the replenishment process now has "worksheet" functionality. I sort of liken this to the PO23, in that you can tinker with your reorder document before committing it to the PO (in our case). This functionality can still be paperless. I cannot say that I was specifically looking at the IC142, so all this may completely miss the point.

My second question is why you would want put replenishment orders through an approval process. In the same way that I would strongly try to dissuade anyone from putting par location orders through an approval process, I think it it would be counterproductive to explicitly approve each and every replenishment order. This is not to say that managers should not provide oversight, but that would be better done through reviewing usage/ordering reports.

Though it was suggested by a recent audit, we are not seeking approvals for inventory and par location replenishment. It's everything else that we're going to require approvals for. I apologize for the unclear post.

We used to run IC140s but switched 2-3 years ago to IC142. At that time, IC140 did not provide the ability to edit replenishment suggestions before POs were created and IC142 offered that ability in a recognizable process to the end users. Switching back to IC140 and introducing yet another new function is an option but a last resort. When I initially researched the new worksheet functionality before making the switch to 9.0 apps, I wasn't impressed and felt it was another lost opportunity to create a simple, elegant solution.

Thanks for getting back to me.
