Can someone tell me what the User Licenses really mean? We've purchased 800 user licenses.
We have only 5 users in LAUA.
We have 700 or so employees on ESS all tied to one LAUA user through RD30.
Where does the 800 license limit come into play really? Is that application users that use the screens? Is we hire 100 more people are we gonna have issues?
thanks
Janet
It's my understanding that user licenses became irrelevant when Lawson introduced the Portal interface, because, as you noticed, they all come in through the same connection.
However, it's also my understanding that this shortcoming/benefit is fixed in LSF 9.0, which more closely tracks user connection and activity.
Also, ESS users are not (or WERE not) included in that user count. only real applications users. So if you hire another 100 people and you are on 8.0X then nobody cares - if however you are on 9.1/9.0 that might be an issue. Best check with your CAM (Customer Account Manager)
