Hi Folks,
We've been getting a lot of e-mail requesting some Lawson M3 discussion on the forum.
Anyone familiar with that set of products that could chime in with some likely categories with should set up?
For now we'll set up a general M3 discussion forum and see where it goes.
Thanks
Why not make the first a General M3 forum? Then the M3 folks can post everything there and you'll eventually see a pattern you can break out.
As I understand it, M3 has much the same structure as S3 - it uses WebSphere and IBM's Portal, there's an environment (I think) and apps written wholly in java - the apps are different from S3 as it's more Manufacturing-centric , whereas S3 is oriented to the Services industries.
M3 and S3 currently share very little, as Lawson is keeping them true to their original purposes. The parts they do share are addons, like LBI.
I think we'll see a "growing closer" (obligatory Robert Heinlein 'Stranger in a Strange Land' reference) as new versions come available. I understand some of the M3 technology is quite remarkable, so I'm sure the S3 side will begin to utilize some of it as it shares back it's hooks into GL, etc...
I'm looking forward to some M3 exposure so I heartily endorse some M3 forums here.
