Is there anything special about installing LID on Citrix ? Any complications?
I'd just try it except we have a very strict change control policy and if servers need down time they need to be planned weeks in advance ... so we need to know what we're getting into and have to have it done perfect the first time or it'll be months before it'd done.
Thanks
The only real issue with LID on Citrix is that users cannot save their personalization changes - colors, font size, etc.. - or at least they SHOULDN'T be allowed to, because with config files, like the "Highlander" - "There can be only one..."
So for God's sake, before you lock it down, set the defaults to something real people can live with. Change the color scheme to something besides black on gray - and set the font size to something that an old fart who wears glasses can see comfortably. Not all of us can read 4 pt type on a 1200 X 1600 screen!!!
And don't forget to create the C:\nfs\hosts file with all the accessible servers names' in it.
LID is a 16-bit application, so it runs in an NTVDM on the windows box. Make sure you set the shortcut to "Run in Separate Memory Space" otherwise all users of LID may be running in the same NTVDM. If one crashes, they all crash.
Citrix may take care of this for you, but why chance it?
