Title: Lbi Roles From Ldap?

We have recently installed LBI authenticating to LOGAN on Lawson 8.0.3. We are working through the best way to define and grant access to users for various roles (report publishers, etc...).

We will be going to LSF9 soon - the question is the "ROLES" access that is now defined by LOGAN groups will change when we go to LSF9 - what specifically defines the "ROLEs" under Lawson Security (LDAP) - is it the ROLE attribute for the user or something else? Just want to make sure we understand what mapping/migration will need to be done when we get ready to move...

You Logan groups will become Groups in Resource Management. You can grant access to items in LBI to the individual users or Groups. It functions exactly the same. You select the button to view the list of available users and groups, then add the ones you want having access to whatever it is your are granting access.

....one more thing....you create Groups through the Lawson Resource Managment utility (desktop client) and you assign users to groups through the Lawson Security Administrator utility (desktop client).

I have heard that these two utilities may soon be combined into a single desktop util. That will be nice.

I guess if I would have looked at the drop down for Group I would have see all of those in there from our test server conversion. Thanks - this is what I was looking for!
