Title: Linux With Lawson
Description: DB server to Linux on IFL

jdixllb - August 9, 2007 05:29 PM (GMT)
Hello, Has anyone used or knows of a Lawson customer who is using Linux on any of their servers? We are going to try using Linux on an IFL for just our database and remove the db from an AIX server. If anyone has used Linux in this capacity we would greatly appreciate a reply.

Thank you,

I haven't tried nor any one I know of; however, if you do it, I don't think Lawson will support any database issues.

Actually... Lawson supports Oracle on any platform that Oracle supports, so ...

you're covered

Yes - Lawson will support ONLY the Oracle database using Linux from what we've gathered. We're just trying to see if we're on the bleeding edge by using an IFL. Possibly a huge cost savings for us.

Thanks for your replies.
