Title: Benefits Automation
Description: trying to create a default deduction

We've had 403b benefit plan (type DC) for years. Employees may choose weather to contribute a flat amount or percentage. Our beneftis admin now wants to automatically enroll all new hire with a 2% contribution. I set up add rules for my HIRE personnel action and ran bn100. My employees are getting picked up and enrolled in the 403b plan but with no contribution/deduction.
Any insights would be much appreciated!!!

Unfortunately, I don't see any way to set that up using your current structure, since contribution limits don't really have a good default option, particularly if you allow different types of contributions. It's the CL that are your sticking point, unfortunately.

You could create another benefit plan and default to it by type and if the employee is not enrolled in your plan with options of flat amounts or percents, they would be automatically enrolled into the percent.

Sorry I don't have a better suggestion for you that doesn't involve customizing the benefit plan.
