Title: Implementing Lawson Lbi
Description: Implementing Lawson LBI

We want to implement Lawson LBI before implementing Lawson Self Service (possibly after), in regards to the dashboards and report services - how complex is this implementation?

Would we need to hire Lawson or a consultant to pull this off or could we attempt to implement this on our own?

Does the fact that we will be moving to LSF 9 in 2008/2009 present any obstacles for this implementation?

Thanks for any advise on this matter

this is a rather long and complex answer. ill try to be brief.

As with anything, complexity all lies in the executor. If you have an individual that is familiar with all the various components you can do this by your self. Those components being:
RDBMS
  • SQL Server 2000/2005
  • Oracle 10g
  • DB2

Servlet Containers
  • Tomcat 5.0.2.8
  • WebSpher Application Server 6

Additional integration items are Lawson Portal, Lawson IOS, LDAP query language, etc.

Obviously a LPS or partner Professional Services individual that has experience with LBI will be able to shed some lite on this process. the real value probably isnt going to come from the actual installation but rather the knowledge transfer in general administration of LBI.

Migration to LSF 9 should adversely effect you LBI implementation now, the only things to be aware of are that the RD30 records goes away and DME query language changes. This could possibly effect you.

We are going to be implementing LBI in the near future on 8.0.3 before moving to LSF 9. And as far as I know, we will be getting remote help for the installation. I will post back on what happened afterwards.
