Title: Crystal/lbi Question

vc727 - July 6, 2007 03:13 PM (GMT)
I have a report that displays the number of direct reports for all of our management staff. The report works fine in CrystalXI on my desktop but when I publish it in LBI I don't get the same information out. When I run it on my desktop for a specific manager I get 6 employees when I publish it and run it I only get 5.

I don't even know what to look at.

Is your LBI using RAS XI or 10?

We went to XI when we set up LBI.

The six records you get running it locally, are they all distinctly different employees/records?

Yes they are distinct. he has 6 employees reporting to him all 6 show up when I run it on my desktop but only 5 when I run it in LBI.
I rewrote the report and the new version doesn't have the same problem.
I thought it should return the same data when run on both systems.

Are you using OLE DB or ODBC data sources?

That sounds like a data connection issue to me. The only way it would vary from one env to another would be if the data connection was pointing to a different area. This could happen with an ODBC connection, which may have been where Karen was going with her question. You could have an ODBC connection on your desktop and server both called "Lawson" but both be pointing to different locations.

If thats not the case, I would try running it via the Crystal LaunchPad.
>Go to the RAS server
>Put the RPT file in the root of C
>Start>Programs>BusinessObjects>Crystal Reports Server>Reports Application Server Launch Pad
>Click on the report and see what kind of data you get back
