Title: Windows 2003 - Web Edition Or Standard Edition?

Keith_G_Thompson - June 22, 2007 08:34 PM (GMT)
We are getting ready to install Win2K3 on our new webservers for LSF9 and Portal 4.0. does anyone know if we can plan on using Windows 2003 Web Edition or if we need to go with the full Standard Edition?

The documentation I've seen does not specify Web Edition at all. All I've seen referenced is "Windows Server 2003" and "Windows Server 2003 R2."

I recommend you clarify this in writing with your Lawson CAM.

We ended up going with Web Edition for our webservers and have experienced no issues. We are on Standard edition for our App and SQL servers.

We tried to build the DEV App Server on Web Edition, but ran into issues with some windows administrative tools before we even tried Websphere. Not sure if Web Edition will even work w/ W.S. and LSF9.
