We are in the process of implementing Kronos. Is anyone updating Lawson with time accrual balances from Kronos? If so, how are accomplishing this?

If you can consider updating balances, you must have purchased TA from Lawson. With that in mind, my question is why would you not use Lawson TA? Why the need to have two TA systems? Seems like you would just be creating an unnecessary interface.

There are advantages in calculating accruals in Kronos. One is that employees will be able to see constantly updated accrual balances at the clock. A second is that the Krono's Leave module will be able to accurately forecast leave of absences (especially if your pto/vacation plans allow you to accumulate additional pto while you are using pto). The downside is that you would probably make any adustments to accrual balances in Lawson, meaning that your Kronos accruals would be inaccurate. That being said, we felt the best place to calculate accruals was in Lawson and then interface the balances to Kronos.

We are in the process of implementing Workbrain for time and attendance and we are going to have Workbrain calculating the accruals but import into Lawson during the payroll import so Lawson can deduct balances so that they stay the same. Building reports so that we can monitor the balances so they are identical. We hope to get the best of both worlds that way.

We've been using Kronos for about 6 years now, and we have always interfaced our balances from Lawson. We use the connect interface which was purchased with Kronos. We run a bi-weekly interface (or it could be nightly if you wanted it to be), to send the balances from Lawson to Kronos. You can send the balances over with an effective date. Are you using Connect for your employee import? Which version of Kronos are you installing?

We also use Kronos connect to interface our accrual balance into Kronos from Lawson. We feed this information over once a week.
